How do you find out about all these addresses and devotional sand talks in different parts of the world from general authorities? Do you follow the “church news” app? Or something else? Or is it just in the church website? I’d like to know so I can follow them too.
One thing about the vaccine. I prayed multiple times… Because I have had really wanted to follow the prophet my whole life. But I have vaccine injured children because I didn't follow the promptings I was receiving. When I prayed what I was told the message is to keep the missions open and the work rolling forward. It is NOT something that is necessary for Salvation. It is one of those times personal revelation doesn't contradict salvation commands but it can on matters of the world. As long as we are seeking to follow the Prophet and the Lord.
No more death would be the ONLY reason I would ever attempt skiing again. I wasn't able to do it in my late teens/twenties and sure couldn't attempt it now at 65. He is definitely protected and not scared of dying! Gotta love him.
Regarding following the prophet, read a talk given by Pres. Ezra Taft Benson, while president of the Quorum of the Twelve, at BYU, Feb 26, 1980 called, Fourteen Fundamentals of Following a Prophet.
And as he has stated many times, we need to listen to Personal Revelation as well. This has become as important as any other CHRIST-CENTERED worship and dedication. There is power there to direct our own families in safety and Spiritual guidance. And yes, he is ABSOLUTELY JUST A MAN! Even he makes mistakes. He will not lead us astray in Spiritual matters, but has already made mistakes as far as the world is concerned. He has brought fear into the Church. However, having done so, I feel he has been required to do so in order to remove the wheat from the tares. This must be done in His House first. It is painful to be sure.
I find the discussion on the vaccine to be interesting. Some are told not to get vaccinated and some are told to get vaccinated. It is like walking home and being asked to choose a right or a left. Both paths lead home and both paths take the same amount of time. What matters is how we respond to being told something different than someone else. What is equally interesting is that President Nelson is a master at using words. Re-read the letter from the first presidency that discusses it. I am immunized against COVID-19. I am not vaccinated.
Generation Z, the last generation (kids right now are generation alpha) is significant because they are the “strength of the Lord’s house, my young and my middle aged” from D&C 101. We need them to redeem and build the New Jerusalem, which is really where we should be placing our focus. The old world is center for the Jews and later the other lost tribes once they return, but the tribe of Joseph is US, the new world. The Book of Mormon focuses on the new world because the Gathering and building the New Jerusalem is done by us, here. He comes to the temple we build for Him in Jackson County before he comes to the Jews. Joseph Smith wasn’t able to bring forth Zion while he lived, but God fulfills all His promises, and so that will need to happen before Christ ever appears to the Jews. Section 101 is almost never talked about, which is disturbing seeing as that it’s parable about us right now and what’s about to come.
The talk I used yesterday was the closing talk by President Nelson, “Make Time for the Lord.” It is a nice summation of the areas we should be focusing on, to be ready. To my knowledge, a large scale devotional being offered in several places at the same time is new. The meetings with President and Sister Nelson (was that in October?) happened on the same day as one in England. As RS President, I was asked to invite every YSA to the devotional. Not sure if that’s new because I’m new.

I absolutely loved this devotional!! I don't think they could make it any clearer that Christ is coming back and it's happening very soon. Many will deny it, but our general authorities are being incredibly bold about Christ's coming and OUR role
As Rasband said the full name of the prophet tonight, I was impressed to look up his name meaning. I found: •Russel = red-haired, or “reddish” "rudy" (as in blood) •Marion = Bitter, or of the sea (the name is a derivative of the name Mary) •Nelson = son of Neil, which Neil means champion or victory
Think about it… red being the color of the atonement or the blood of a surgery, his middle name referring to the time of bitterness and almost a time of atonement for many suffering right now from the events leading up to the 2nd coming… but … the end or the last name is about being a champion of the victory.
His name is a testimony of the outcome of all our troubles right now.
I loved this, thanks for putting this together, you caught all the interesting parts! You know the worldwide youth devotional of 2018 where the prophet called those young people to the work in the Youth Battalion? I'm thinking that group he was addressing is going to be the last wave of missionaries to the gentile nations. The younger ones of that group (12 yrs old in 2018) will be serving their missions in 2025 and finishing in 2027 if they're not called home early. So my guess is that's when the missionary work of the Church at least to the gentile nations will be finished.
He is so lively because he has always done it. There are a lot of people in their nineties still doing amazing things. I am afraid that you are making something of this that is a little on the edge. It is nice that you make videos but I hope you can handle the constructive criticism that comes with putting yourself out there. I do enjoy your videos and glad that you do them. The Come Follow Me had to have started under President Monson and maybe Elder Nelson was involved and ready to take it up and finish it. No matter what the case I fully believe it was Heaven sent as it was so very timely.
