I’m with my partner. I like Jack but I don’t think I can ever get behind describing your BF or GF as a partner. BF/GF has evolved for so long as an intimate relationship description that feels more personal and intimate—even though most of relationships are a transaction and convenience. But partner seems so impersonal. If I got married, I would be upset if my husband called me partner and not wife. I would refer to him as my husband.
