Sadly the protection that was afforded to Social Security no longer exist. The problem is that during Viet Nam Conflict, money for the War was taken from the SSA, eventually that was payed back. Then the funds were put into the general budget. It was open season on the money. The DS didn't care, as the money was in the general budget the theft of funds continued. Like Biden spending money on his child Zelensky, The Senate and House just happily spent all the money they got their grubby hands on.
