a lot of people need structure as they dont have creative brains. Look what social media does to peoples mental health. Old school life principles were less interesting (boring), but there was a lot less mental health problems, however global poverty and inequality problems may improve…

Life is a process, it is not a destination. Yep it sounds corny but it is true. Just focus on now, you can have plans, but don't be too rigid. Also have some fun on the way as well 🙂

The "terrible" in the world is probably not as terrible as history. It's easy to look back with selective memory and decide the world is horrible today, but it's not true once you start comparing the metrics of death by war, death by disease, infant mortality, food insecurity, personal and material crime rates. There's an actual "mean world syndrome". Don't fall into it. Get the facts and decide by reason, not voodoo and how it "seems."

I find it very Ironic that the most developed wealthy and educated countries tend to have the most social unrest and conflict. Where as not all but some underdeveloped countries do not and are stable compared to western countries.

I think also an existential elements to this problem is our willingness to accept what we are told uncritically.

That's a decent reality check. I have kids and I don't see them walking down this set path until they choose to. We love our free life. Just that we're very lonely. However do you meet people that align with this "purposeful" worldview?

Balance is key! If we are anxious in the present the future will be suffering. Be conscious of the chaos stop, and just breath!

Live in and appreciate the moment. This thing alone is a huge secret that lacks context in our current society. Hold the future and the past until you're ready to embrace the thought of them. I too had thebsame thought of once i hit this age I'll just probably know what to do…never happened. Most adults haven't slowed things down for themselves, even on the street I see nervous and panicking people all day, who or what are you so afraid of?

Very wise,Stoic,as in the philosophy of stoicism and well thought out and put.I remember my friends in high school rushing to take tests and pay mega college bills.I went to trade school, became an electrician, enjoyed it, became disabled and had to live simply and all that stuff, all the running, went away.I just never followed their plan be it by accident or I just didn't care to.I never married or had kids and I'm good with life. Anyone can adapt if they need to bad enough and I always say to check out the story of Xeno.

I don't get the point. Was that supposed to be some kind of cheer up video? One thing for sure- "make mistakes, mess up" is not a good advice. Simple reason. If you follow "do everything as planned without any f**k ups along the way" route, you will make abundance of errors anyways. But if you set the bar even lower, aiming to mess up, you will make a lot more stupid sh*t. Again, not the best advice. Try your best and know you wlll make mistakes. And learn from them. Don't just say "it's ok".

I have never liked how we are supposed to compete in this life. It is like that. Compete at school, at sports, to find
a partner, get the job you want, etc etc etc.

It's odd to me that there are people that "get" what you are saying, and there is everyone else. I think most people are just living the "western" hustle culture because their lives are programmed to "worK". This culture of work and consumption is obviously a programming routine setup by the industrial machine of the west. This does not allow people to actually have the time to figure out they have been programmed. Those of us that cannot or will not fit into this mindset are left looking at the world in utter disgust. While we think that people are insane for living in today's maddening idea of how life should be. I have just walked away. And I'm happy I did. The future is not more important than today.

We men must have goals to be happy, but the joy is in the journey not the destination. But dont worry if the journey is round about, because as John Lennon said, life is what happens while your busy making other plans.

Reality is that living is a contribution to the madness. There is no good human life. Homosapien is errant biology because it was molded by kings. Nature will not allow incoherent life.
