I'm hoping they still give the ninja development to certain things about them(Zane's trauma, Jay and Nya's wedding plus Jay getting his inheritance, Kai being more than comic relief, Cole's solid though maybe more on his mom and grandfather, and Lloyd should get a therapist)

Kai and Zane didn't really have the best focus seasons for them in my opinion. But, by separating this new upcoming series from the original series as being a different Ninjago and a new chapter/saga in the overall continuity, I'm able to accept the changes of this new series more.
Everything from Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu to Crystalized was "more different 'Ninjago'," and this upcoming sequel series is "even more different 'Ninjago'."
And that's not even making any kind of qualitative statements — that's just raw facts about what it is.
Focus seasons, are what made ninjago great, you could have made loads of character development for one or more characters, that didn't get that much in other seasons.But making it team seasons, while probably good, wouldn't have as much character development, if they got their own season.
Sad that Kai never got a focus season. He got a lot of development in the earlier episodes, but his character somewhat regressed after Sons of Garmadon. I guess the Quest for the Lost Powers gave us short but complete arcs for all the ninja, and now we'll see them working together as a team like in Tournament of Elements.

I mean I kinda can see how this can be a good thing because it means the show can properly look at every character. Plus it could be throwing us off, like perhaps focus seasons are still a thing but they just donât brand it as such so like we wonât see the focus ninja on the sets anymore
I want the ninja to remember, it's like remembering their adventure in the past. And I also wonder how the beginning of United will happen, whether the ninjas will get together again, or they will live right away in the monastery.
Tournaments of Elements felt like an all-ninjas-focused season. can't call it a Kai focused-season just because you give him a simple love interest, which is a mostly wasted character, and have some speculations in terms of his family for only 30 seconds in the entire season when there are better-executed character-arcs that are not Kai's like Zane conquering his fears or Jay and cole squashing their beef or Lloyd losing his father.
this really sucks for example kai never really got a stand alone season,pilot focuses on kai but it's a 44 minute special,then he had season 4 during the first 8 episodes but once you reach the last two episodes the focus shifted to lloyd and garmadon and hands of time is a kai season but he shared it with nya
Nah, this is lame as fuck. Kai is literally the only Ninja who hasn't defeated the main antagonist of a season like the other Ninja have, and I feel like it would also be cool for a Kai-focused season to focus more on his Fire element and his aggression along with it (even though said "aggression" has been toned down wayyyyyyyy too much recently, Kai feels too tame nowadays). I wasn't really paying attention to these videos for a long time, but this…..this is just a disappointment. Just like the ending to Crystalized…..Kai just doesn't have the respect he truly deserves, especially with him being the original main protagonist of Ninjago. For me, focus seasons still have their place when a certain Ninja is dealing with something that's specifically personal to them (like "Rebooted" focusing on Zane due to his connection to technology and the Nindroids as a whole being based off his specs, and "Day Of The Departed" focusing on Cole finally addressing the very problem that is his lack of mortality and his friends forgetting about him, which works into his literal existential-crisis and all, with the threat of ceasing to exist in the minds of those he cares about and as a person looming over him). They shouldn't be thrown away like this, especially when someone like Kai most desperately needs a season to himself again.
He was the original main character of Ninjago starting with the "Pilot Season", was the main focus of "The Tournament Of Elements" (Season 4), and was in a two-ninja focus with Nya in "The Hands Of Time" (Season 7). To be fair I like this, because there are way too many Jay/Kai focused seasons and I like when all of the ninja have a major part in a season
